TO CELEBRATE THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF AYO

 

The Asian Youth Orchestra is looking for a showcase composition by a Hong Kong composer, a new work that will be played as a concert opener or concert encore. The selected composition will be performed on the Asian Youth Orchestra’s Asian Tour, from 3 to 31 August 2025. 

 

Requirements

The composition should be 3 to 5 minutes in length. Instrumentation should be for full orchestra. As this composition is to be played on tour it must be “portable” and “travel well", and to celebrate AYO’s 35th anniversary and reflect the spirit, vibrancy and rich colour of Hong Kong.

Deadline for submission of the full orchestra score and audio demo: 31 March 2025.
Announcement of winning composition: 30 April 2025. 
Deadline for submission of the individual parts of the winning score is 1 June 2025
