Eva Chi
Soprano
An active soprano in Hong Kong, Eva Chi had recently performed in the 51st Hong Kong Arts Festival, participating in the “Love Stream” – a collaboration with Prof. Chan Hing-Yan and composer Daniel Lo, which the production was a big success. Under the tutelage of Madam Ella Kiang, soprano Eva Chi obtained her Bachelor’s Degree of Music (Honours) at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2015.
She received a number of singing awards since young including Hong Kong Youth Singing Festival and Italy-Hong Kong International Music Festival, etc. She sung the role of ‘Dew Fairy’ in Hansel and Gretel in the HKU Black Box in 2017. She made her Europe debut performance at the Bach’s Cantata BWV 199 concert in Utrecht, the Netherlands in November 2017.
Eva is keen on singing contemporary work. She sang composer Viola Yuen’s work, ‘A Story From…the Other Side of the Horizon’ in Musicarama concert in 2014, ‘Journey to the West’ in Hong Kong Art Festival Plus in 2019 and composer Daniel Lo’s ‘A Woman Such as Myself’ in One City One Book Hong Kong’s Chamber Opera – Recorded Performance in 2020.
Her recent performances in include Cantabile’s ‘Cantabile Con Amore’, ‘Camerata & Friends Concert’ and ‘Who’s afraid of opera? A day of singing about love’ in Tai Kwun, role of Rapunzel in opera ‘Brothers Grimm’ (online streaming) etc.
